August is always a time of transition. Children of all ages return to school. I always have a birthday—and it seems as if there are a lot of other August birthdays too. This year, instead of starting school, I have been wrapping up degrees. I have been reconnecting with old friends and making plans for the future. And I am reacquainting myself with a familiar old face: limbo.
